Bystanders will never know.
Passersby will never understand.
Onlookers will never use their heart...
For they are but strangers,
with eyes on no one but themselves.

How true....I know no matter how much you know a person, you couldn't fully undertsand their pain or their misery. I remembered when I needed help the most, they would stand by and give me comforting words, but not all who would actually comfort me by doing something. I was hurt somehow, because they were my good friends, but hey, life just go on...

Brittle Bottle - It reminds me of a movie I once watched when I was younger, and it's sad, it's about a rough teenage lifehood and how she committed suicide in the end. Vulnerable...

Incoherent Piece of Life - Actually, it is exactly what I was thinking, I wanted to write a poem about how human being greedy and unsatisfied but somehow I'm blunt, thanks for making it happen:)

Thanks. actually. That was just random writing. i use fiction press so a lot of poets there too. well.. many wrote their poems in this form (as i did for Incoherent Piece of LIfe). so i wanted to try. I'm those sort who likes experimenting new ways. it's always exciting.

hmm.. committing suicide isn't something i'd every think about or try. it's just plain stupid. you're just allowing life to do what it wants to you. and allowing your enemies to get what they want (getting rid of you). even if life sucks, it MUST go on because only when it goes on, will you then be able to walk and pave a future you want, and see what it is like 10/20/30 years down the road. ending your life just deprives you of whatever sweetness you may be facing in future.

Well i don't know about how true that is, but that's how strangers and neighbours are like... they slam doors in your face, if you hold the gate for them, they don't give a damn, they just pretend that they didn't see... and walk in giving you that 'are-you-planning-something" look (look of suspicion). I mean, HELLO~ There ARE people out there who are really wanting to help for help sake you know... why be so suspicious of everything? holding a door for you so that i can get you into the condominium's premise... what can i do? like i can do anything, cmon i'm just a 15 year old girl who is still buried behind stacks of books...

I tend to smile at strangers but avoiding eye contact, because I know once we did the eye contact thing, I'm going to be in trouble. (specifically speaking of certain guys, or maybe because it's just my experience, LOL)...I enjoy speaking to strangers because they don't know who you are but I didn't actually met one who is so feral...yet...sorry you have go through with that. But of course strangers wouldn't willingly offere you their help, man!

There's this Marilyn Manson song - Suicide is painless which I think it's really funny, he's just plain emo, he sings songs about why we should embrace death and stuff, it's just weird. And suicide is not a thing I would ever do, and nothing could lead me to commiting suicide anyway, when I chanel my anger and frustration into my poems, I'll be fine then. So, I channel my thoughts in a healtheir way.

Although i write about goth/emo/ angst stuff, but these writes make me happy. Okay, it's weird, but when i am down and i see sad faces or when I read depressing writes, i feel like someone is in it with me. I would feel better instantly because of that.

Ponder

Can your apologies return
all lives you've taken?
Does apologizing for
your soldiers' misdeed,
change anything they've done
to petrify our souls?
Yet to think again,
maybe we were all
at fault for all these past
of blood and gore?
~Ger.

Fall Yesterday, Rise Again Today

Friends of China hear me out,
we may be different,
in our genetic makeup,
but trust me with this fact,
this bitter, gruesome truth,
that we do indeed share,
something in common --
invasion by the same country.

There's nothing such as,
less damage done,
for all rampaged cities,
loose equally as much.
For all overruled countries,
lost equally as many lives.

Entertainment of the soldiers,
psychological blows on the people,
rotated between stranger men,
babies stabbed by bayonets,
or a massive beheading battle?
All I can see from these actions,
are the lack of knowledge,
those workers and leaders held,
gaining immense pleasure,
from taking life of their own species.

Lets' not dwell on it any further,
for the citizens living in today,
are just as innocent,
as our ancestors then.
We should forgive,
not those leaders then,
but the members of that country,
living in present times,
who are just as innocent,
as all our living sisters yesterday.
~Ger.

-- This is written in memory of all the victims of the Nanjing Massacre and WWII ancestors.
-- Also written for the present day population of Singapore and China -- lets' not forgive those who killed, but forgive the innocent citizens living in today.

Ponder is a meaningful read but I could tell that you spent more thoughts in Fall yesterday, rise again today, haha...It's interesting that you looked into politics and wars, that's a very unusual piece to write, but you managed to bring it out:) It's like your trying to make peace yet hope for their understanding, well done:)

hoping for their understanding isn't something i need from them that is, i sure do hope things do cease. China and Japan's ties are really terrible...

Well, it concerns my country's history as well... Japanese soldiers then sure have some sick sense of humour. They do not just kill, they rape and do things you never imagine a sane man would do.

Did you watch the miniseries The Pacific? Because Japs are seriously cruel, but thank god they are not so sadistic now.

erm no... But I know about wars...

I can't believe they are so... inhumane to their own kind.

It will sound weird, but i want to go to Japan to further my studies. I want to know more about them... and their past... know why their ancestors would do that... was it because of orders? or was it because life was equally as bad for them? I mean... a man who is in the right mind won't do those kind of things...

You wouldn't believe how different Japanese are from those days, Japanese are very polite and kind, they are so friendly that you might get intimidated, it;s hard to imagine that they are that sadistic during the world war 2. But I know one thing, most of them don't speak english, so it's harder to communicate with them, but hey, if you're interested, you can actually pick up japanese! My friend wanted to further her studies there too and just earlier this year another friend did went to Japan and she said it was a blast!

Yea. my god-brother's a half-blood (japanese- chinese). I know how nice japanese are... that's was why i thought about 'maybe we were all at fault for this'. most of all, we should forgive, forgive them for their past, forgive them for their inhumane acts, but NEVER forget this history. To remember isn't to hold on to the past, but to remember how darkness has brought us to this height.

You got that absolutely right, that is why humans always hold grudges and always hold on to the past, but I believe in moving forward, and let by gone be bygone. Sure I would be offended and wanted revenge, but I know holding grudges are not the best quality.

Brink and Brim

No matter how good you are,
there're always people better.
Regardless of how much you help,
there're always goody-two-shoes.
However hard you try to endure,
there're always details to fine.
Whatever you try to ignore,
there're always some who zooms into it.

You can always put in your utmost,
but be prepared to fall...

Even the toughest metal can bend,
even the thickest string can break,
even the strongest soul can shatter.
When the impact is too hard,
when the knife is too sharp
when the tears start to flow.

You can presume there's no limit,
but your emotionals waver,
only because there's this boundary.

You can live in your make-beliefs,
but to ignore all that you sense,
is detrimenting pride and faith.

Resentment
When home is too far,
and friends are too distant,
the only way out,
is digging a deeper hole.
When silence rings bright,
and loneliness flashes over,
the only route out,
is seeking goth for empathy.

B & B
My heart clenched when I read this poem because it all make sense. I do notice that you have a talent when it comes to write poems about reality. The first stanza is what I always felt and to see them put into words, it made me even I don't know, realistic? (As you notice I am babbling). I love your poems because I could easily relate to them, I don't want to live in my make beliefs but sometimes I think I do, haha.

Well, 15th birthday for me wasn't all that great this year too...

I thought i could be spared for a day (my birthday) from seeing those two people. because seeing them means i have to entertain them... play sports with the etc, like some care giver >> Stupid i hate that day the MOST.

But well, i really enjoy my holidays this year. away from home wasn't all that great, but it is great to know i don't need to entertain guests (:

High School

A Low B-flat on vibrato,
not the least bit bold,
a small meek smile,
a flowery tale slowly unfolds.

A High A with tenuento,
piercing and cold,
a shattered heart,
with a story yet to be told.

A Middle C repeated in staccato,
confident and gold,
fingers interlocked,
a completed novel nicely mold.

HuangPu River

Bleakness reflects off its surface,
just as bright rows of lights do,
yet the beauty men speak off,
is nothing but of the later,
which only darkness enhances.

Serenity people sense,
is just the disturbances,
they have wittily created,
with technology and ignorance,
standing on the docks of cruises.

High school - This poem rhymes:) And I like it when you used the musical metaphors to signify your meanings, it's awesome. I love the second stanza the most, to me that's best symbolize high school, great job! I enjoy reading your poems:)

Huang Pu River- First I don't know that river haha, but I do know Huang He river (The Yellow river if it was dirrectly translated, are they the same?) It's unique that you describe a river and yet linked it to some kind of emotions, oh well! I don't know how to explain! All I know is that this is yet another piece that I admire.

Keep on updating! Smile

Well, there are tonnes of rivers in China, but huang he is a main river, huang pu river is just a smaller river in the heart of shanghai. It is surrounded by buildings like the oriental pearl tower. Very pretty, but i was just depressed on the cruise so thought about it that way.

Btw, high school was a poem i wrote after reading your poem.
