| I think the bulls symbolize how even though Light and Darkness are different, one can't live without the other. The Balance of Power..The Darkness Bull was white, which means no matter how much evil it has, it still has a little light in it. Same goes for the black bull being for Light.
The bulls in general talks about Males using 'male strength'. Men usually solve everything with fighting, and females would usually rather talk things out. The Bulls is a strange thing in Vampyre myths cause Vamps in HON are based on a Matriarch...
What do you think? | |

| I saw that too. I also found it interesting that the majority of the society has simply chosen to let them fall into the past and become almost a lost believe system. it really says something about the way people work and how they deal with things that don't necessarily mesh with the majority of their beliefs and views | |

| I read something in one of the other books. It might make sense to the Bull's colours.
At a vampires funeral, most people were wearing black, but some were wearing white. This girl wanted to know why people would wear white to a funeral. One of the other characters says this:
"Black is the colour of the night. White is the true colour of death."

| I think that it shows that not all darkness is evil and not all light is good. | |

| Well, Vampire society is like any other society. People band together, agree on some rules then later on maybe some people down the road will discover a new way of doings. Some will incorporate the change as it is, remix it to their flavor or completely reject it. Then some people will look back and see a way of doing things that was dropped from the rotation and decide that maybe that way of doing things could work effectively in the current time line and integrate that into their socio-psycho-cultural existence. Zoey did say that best thing about everyone was their humanity. I have always operated on the belief that Humanity=F(change) where change can be +/- depending how it is viewed. The bulls belief structure being dropped from vampyre society is no different than the council of Nicea agreeing on which books were standard Christian doctrine and which were heretical. | |

| I remember reading something in the latest book, Burned, that with the vamps being more the femine side of things, the bulls represent the male side to help create a balance. A type of Yin and Yang. Black and white are complete opposites such as men and women. the Yin/Yang symbol is a perfect balance of both colors in balance of each other. 1/2 being all one color with a hint of the opposite color to help balance it out... | |
