Allright, I'll just post one or two poems here... I don't mind criticisms, most welcomed, but no random flaming thanks. Erm... I won't be around for a period of time, until December ... So yeah, if you're looking forward for more poems, do check out my website 3M3R's site I've most of my poems up there.) I changed the color of the fonts because this blue is difficult to read against the dark background, esp when the font is so small.

Beautiful Unreliable World

Crawled out of the shell,
I had always hid in,
hoping to learn new ways,
and make new friends.

Just a little of what I'd say,
is spun into a nice little tale,
showing sides that I never knew,
telling unfamiliar stories of me.

Has life got to continue on,
in this bitter betrayal,
where I only stand solitary,
with many acquaintances.

Is this the wonderful world,
where backstab never fails,
to follow one who tries so hard,
fighting inhibitions and fear?

This beautiful place we call home,
where hope merely gets trampled on,
and emotions are often toyed with,
such life is too unreliable, no?
~Ger.

Missu

Though you've left ages ago,
on this end of the globe,
I'm still tearing about you.

Crossing bustled streets,
watching others hand in hand,
recalling that was us back then.

Resting my worn out self,
the sheets still has your scent,
the bed still has your warmth.

Knowing it would never reach,
but I still scream and shrilled,
hoping you'd come back again.
~Ger.

Just Swallowing On

Captive of fear,
I scream and shrill,
but where only I can hear.

Lover of endurance,
I hold and surpress,
injuring no one but only me.

Prisoner of utilization,
I work for eternity,
facing only disparages.

Seeker of peace
I speak not of what I feel,
for conflict only frustrates me.

Broken Doll

I see a casement,
a vault,
filled with nothingness.

I sense a mellow,
a tingling,
bitterness of sorrow.

I inflict a boundless,
a universe,
of pure anguish.

I make a shelter,
a home,
with no windows nor doors.

I am a being,
a soul,
living without life.

He Came

Sitting and waiting at a bench,
praying he is still coming.
She skips and paces around the car,
just to keep her hopes alive.

Changing and darkening sky,
despair is slowly eating into her,
She flips and glances at the phone,
wishing he would give her a call.

Hurrying and jogging over to her,
the one she had been waiting for,
She smiles and waves back at him,
his grin has lit up her raining heart.

Jumping and rushing towards him,
tears of relief pours out of her,
she flings and wraps her arms round,
squeezing the daylights out of him.

Lonely

Call of the souls abandoned,
shrills of the spirits forsaken,
none heard by others on earth.

Scrapes of memories to pick,
empty pages of future to seek,
a present day barren living.

Where's The Love

We claim we love,
but to her,
we do only harm.

We say we worry,
but then,
we just sit by and watch.

We talk of protecting,
but right now,
we're still destroying.

We discuss the measures,
but in fact,
we're just putting on a show.

We start campaigns,
but actually,
We're just spinning tales.

We have all the power,
so it's time,
we should start saving Gaia.

Waning Star

Twinkling against the light blue drop,
draping emotions left to mop.
Secrets hidden behind this wall,
unheard even through the silent call.
Seeking the fire of craze,
to set the passion ablaze.
Sighing in utter despair,
when hopes start to wear.
Watching as it slowly dies away,
as desires get killed by gamma rays.

Perceptional Sophistication

Duels of power,
covert and secrete.
Capsules of protection,
built and bolstered.

Fables of friendships,
bristle and prick.
Tables of chimeras,
shatter and pop.

Dimples of history,
shallow and tarnished.
Candles of alliance,
dissolves and melt.

Girdles of living,
cumbersome and woeful.
Barrels of loneliness,
tumble and crush.

Ha! I found your poems, and they are really good. This is what I felt when I read your poems, you tell a story. It's short but meaningful, and from that I could see that you're experienced as well, maybe not literally:) My favourites are Missu, Just Swallowing On and Warning Star. I don't know why, but I just loved them!

Missu makes me emotional, Just Swallowing on, the first stanza is my favourite! I like the way you put scream and shrill together, it makes it sounds 'heavy' (sorry couldn't think of a word to describe what I feel, sometimes, I suck with words, XD) and it gave me a very suffering and excruciating image, confined. And warning star also made me felt like how Just Swallowing on did, frustrating and desperate.

By the way, broken doll is also a very nice poem! How creative are you to think of such poem:) And you have a talent in choosing names, Smile

Flattering! Thanks anyway!

Actually the titles are what inspired me to write. I have life, but that of a broken doll... And I feel like I'm just a puppet of my classmates. doing their work for them and all that. I feel like screaming it out, like anyone would care.

Most of my poetry are goth, due to emotions. I tend to write when I'm really emotional. But lately, I'm just stressed out so I swing by others' poetry to get some inspirations. (:

If you read my poems in chronological order (although, of course, these are selected writes and are not in chronological order), it's my life.

Burning Life of a Motionless Doll

The gentle smile sewn unto this face,
beauty in only the limit of its length.
A sparkle from the glittering eye,
genuine despair hidden by it's barren gleam.
The braided plaits of silk straight strings,
dullness to come with time and space.
A constant whirling network of thoughts,
fostered by a dead heart and silent mind.
~Ger.

Debris

Her arms once warmly wrapped around,
now her pretty face only dons on scorn.
Watched her twirl, but with other men,
the smile once his, no longer now.

Maybe she was waiting for today,
to show how he was yards from her.
Staggered to a corner, destroyed by sorrow,
fall into a vault of despair, devoured by despair.
~Ger.
(something that happened to my senior... sad life)

Cobwebs

Spot lights on the dance floor,
wine and drinks in rows.
Swirls of dresses, taps of heels,
wrath of midnight parties, blasting through.

A pallid single palely dressed,
forgotten in shadows of dim-lit sites.
Head in knees, hand round glass,
many merry hours, wasted in grief.

Distant melodies misbegotten in pain,
struggle to stay sane fails to being.
Tears streaming, hics choking,
few would know, none will ask.
~Ger.

I could feel the emotions in those poems, and it's not goth, but sad. And I don't mind if it's goth or cheeky or anything, the pieces you put together are great. Can't wait to read from you more. My fav in is Burning life of a motionless doll. I love the way you describe the doll, every single detail and every single emotions in those words.

I had the image of a doll in my mind when I wrote that poem XD I prefer having something in my mind when writing. A scene, or an image. Makes it easier to describe.

Colorful Collection Part I

Blossoms of Shell Pink

A thought, a word,
sets me spinning in my world.
A glimpse, a smile,
all I need to skip down the aisle.
A crush, a liking,
I'm overwhelmed by such feelings.
~Ger.

Shades of Breathing Blue

The generator of energy,
the well of life,
a necessity gifted to man.

The encouragement of joy,
The haven of life,
an essence of man's freedom.

The sky and sea,
the reason of life,
and source of mystery.
~Ger.

Flush of Chrome Orange

Hand of destruction,
heart of warmth.
Form of freedom,
embodiment of chains.
Leader of power,
Master of weakness.
~Ger.

Streaks of Bright Yellow

The aurora of smiles,
the comfort of light.
A glow of happiness,
A sensation of fervor.

Stretch your hand,
and reach for the stars.
Feel heat inundate you,
and spirit away from here.
~Ger.

Splashes of Shifting Green

Birth on mother earth,
a new lease of life,
tint, timind and shy,
it gradually opens itself.

Watching as friends fall,
becoming aids of growth,
exposure and experience,
its skin is slowly tanned.

Pigments lost through merriment,
timer of death begins to tick,
Fading, thinning and paling,
youthful vigor drowned in present fear.
~Ger.

Haziness of Lucid White

Purity that shone through,
encrypted innocence of youth.
We know it will fade one day,
but presume it's still far away.

Even nature has it's bends,
and lucid stones can be impure.
How much of a distance,
can the 'far away' be?

It's about time we wake,
from the naive beliefs we make.
Transparency is greying out,
there's no more time to wait.
~Ger,

(Please highlight to read! Sorry about it)
Clarity of Tainted Black

It's along the deepest alleys,
that we are warry.
It's in the dim-lit night,
that we run from shadow's sight.
It's after the heaviest rain,
that we see fog that doesn't taint.
It's not always grief that darkness greets,
often it's the beauty we choose not meet.
~Ger.

Spectrum of Simple Grey

A trillion little pixels,
a billion different shades.
Even the basic of the basic,
can confuse and haze the mind.

A million little blots and splashes,
a thousand different feelings.
Even the common of the common,
can inundate one with extreme emotions.

A hundred similar pairs of eyes,
a dozen different perspectives.
Even the finest of the finest,
can be picked and magnified.

Scores of similar writes,
only one will really provoke.
Even the shortest of the shortest,
can elicit the deepest admiration.
~Ger.

Cryptic End of Gay Purple

Even the happiest man,
even the brightest soul,
has times of depression.

Just an infinitely petite issue,
just an undefined tiny matter,
can be the last straw for the mind.

Maybe it is just a short-coming,
maybe it is just a flaw,
but there's no denying, that was limit.

Every embodiment of breathing life,
every presentation of living being,
there's no doubt, a furtive side to each.
~Ger.

Shallowness of Shiny Gold

Grabbing all's attention,
a gleaming opague metal.
Beautifying the exterior,
but devouring the interior.

Weighed gram for gram,
a toy for the rich to play.
A word of advice from ages ago,
'not all that gliter is gold.'
~Ger.

Sincerity of Dull Silver

Absorbing colors from the light,
a nature of hiding from man's sight.
Only appreciated when polished,
beauty that few will relish.
Authentic to any who wore,
now, decoration is all it's for.
If we stopped to savour,
we'll know the precious flavour.
~Ger.

Importance of Dusty Brown

Always claiming,
'knowledge is priceless'.
Yet we just buy and throw,
flipping through only once.

Always showing,
our vast list of vocab.
Yet we do not know,
the humility of words.

If impressing was all it was for,
gibberish is worth loads more.
If intelligence is really valued,
will there even be a cost?

Power of Striking Red

Corresponding with black,
the sign of end,
a color that arises fear.

Contradicting with amber,
the idea of vivid joy,
a shade depicting gore and war.

Complementing with green,
the symbol of nature,
a tone signifying Man's defiance.

Completed with blue,
the portrayl of life,
an image marking man-made death.
~Ger.

Uncertainty of Crystal Clear

Confusion smokes the eye,
of a player intrigued.
Yet the answer lies obvious,
to sight of bystanders.

Uniqueness of every mind,
renders simple intricate.
Sophistry of every brain,
straight lines become curves.
~Ger.

Plainess of Rainbow

What it has amazed,
is nothing more than the eye.
None will stop to enjoy,
for life goes on with or without it.

Photos we have taken,
is just an act of preserving.
Stubborn as we may be,
refusing to accept change.

Only the process of thinking,
will fill in the tones.
Only the depth of thoughts,
can paint in the shades.
~Ger.

Sacrifice

Searching in a sea of dead,
looking for a lost love.
Stopped dead by a small frame,
with intricate features.

Plunging forward without thought,
arms wrapping round the sleeping face.
The expected tears began to stream,
it was her second gone in just a week.

Several months of anticipation,
and hours of waiting in the hospital.
Ten or more years spent caring,
all gone in the ring of a gun shot.

Many other voices cry in harmony,
like a massive choir of grieving souls.
All only screaming to heaven,
hoping to revive lost members.

But those mothers had others,
like little girls and spouses waiting.
she had absolutely nothing left,
to keep her going in this angst.

Overwhelmed by total despair,
she wipes out a gleeming object.
In a swift motion from left to right,
she joins her family in the other world.
~Ger.

-Based on an image in my mind when I watched a video on the Sri Lankan Civil war. How a mother cried so hard for a lost family member.

Thanks. (: Hope you update yours soon too ((:

Here's more. Well this two sets were written for ritual sake. I used to be the poet of the circle on the old site. So here it is:

Earth

Simplicity of every living,
complicated to the eye.
Home to trillions of souls,
power resonates true.
Call upon to this gathering,
our Mother Earth,
join us in this ritual,
be by us tonight.
~Ger.

Water

Deep or shallow,
clear or dirty,
all are beauty,
to those who see it only.
Summon to the circle,
our flowing Water,
follow through this ritual,
be with us tonight.
~Ger.

Air

Ability of the unseen,
strength of what is felt.
Surrounding every living,
a need for survival.
Come forth to this meeting,
Our beloved Air,
see us through this ritual,
be around us tonight.
~Ger.

Fire

Flaming torches lit encircles,
energy of warmth and power.
Watching every home and land,
comforting every broken soul.
Convene to this assembly,
our alluring Fire,
keep away shiver through this ritual,
be about us tonight.
~Ger.

Spirit

With or without body,
wondering on this land.
The vigor of each individual,
the life of every dead,
the heart of every being.
Hail to this conference,
our vital Spirit,
connect mortals and phantoms in this ritual,
be leading us tonight.
~Ger.

Full Moon Ritual

As each element is called,
our Priestess makes her way,
to the center where fun begins.

When ritual comes to an end,
the spiked wine on the table,
is then passed around.

Each one takes a sip,
sensing energy coursing through,
as the blood lust is satisfied.

Final drip taken by Priestess,
as everyone watches on,
and then food appears,

Joyous occasion of every month,
crescent, waning, waxing moon,
quickly round up for our next meeting.
~Ger.

New Moon Ritual

A day where silence fills the air,
where no moon is in sight,
only the stars to guide our way,
to the place we gather again.

The streaming people settles down,
as the gong sounds,
and the ritual begins now.

Called elements one by one,
as they slowly come around,
filing the gaps and spaces,
comforting everyone.

Once all that's over,
everyone rushes to the front,
grabbing an empty glass,
filling it with punch.

At the end when sun rises,
everyone returns for a beauty sleep,
tastes of food and memory of ritual,
kept for the next to come.
~Ger.

Earth

The home to all,
somewhere where we can never fall.
The peace it brings,
melody of all races sing.
The unity,
laughter from the community.
Mother Earth,
It's our origin and birth.
Here we belong,
Where we will forever stand strong.
~Ger.

Air

Warming or cooling,
the reason why we are living.
Light breeze or howling,
when the wind will sing us its song.
Humid or refreshed,
our desires never crushed.
Extend and welcome,
Allow air to cleanse all the glum.
~Ger.

Water

Tears and rain,
Should not be what we call pain.
Laughs and smiles,
is what it brings from miles.
Tamed or wild,
it has everything complied.
With gratitude,
water shall change our attitude.
~Ger.

Fire

Passion and love,
holds you like a dove.
Desire and yearn,
Light and let it burn.
Ablaze and bright,
the beauty ignite.
Within and true,
Loyalty shins through.
Comfort and heat,
Never will fire glow with defeat.
~Ger.

Spirit

The first laugh and cry,
the world through our very eyes.
From the ashes we rise,
the heart and soul with no disguise.
The life given to us,
what our Goddess has blessed.
With pride and respect,
the evil shall never have effect.
~Ger.

Poet

With inspirations, I design,
With words, I'm alined,
With literature, I shine,
With rhyme, I'm refined,
With stanzas, I combine,
With voice, I'm defined,
With ink, I sign,
With beauty, I'm poet.
~Ger.

Ritual Poem

The crescent is now whole over, it's so fine,
here we meet as a circle, rain or shine.
No matter the bane, no worries the pain,
Soon when Goddess comes, all removed are the chains.

The melody we hum along, the oaths we've made,
here we stand once again, our hearts and purity unfaded.
Silence that stuns, serenity that calms,
Goddess' warmth and glow, resting on our palms.
Tonight we'll let passion burn, let our hopes ignite!
~Ger.

New moon ritual

Came and gone,
Evening and Dawn.
Solar and Lunar,
vanish and appear.
Cresent and whole,
bright and sole.
Genuine and fake,
cared and forsaked.
All gather here tonight,
in remembrance of our ancestors's fight.
We will stand upright,
and keep the light of peace bright.
~Ger.

The Poem

On this very night,
it's light shines bright.
Above the very Earth,
where life was given birth.
Smiles and laughter heard,
as we gather by Goddess's word.
Pledge to heart and soul,
the oath so dear we hold.

Once again the gong will sound,
as we gather all around.
Take our respective places,
as full moon rises.
Then the music starts to play,
as our priestess twirls under its rays.

"Our life, the Air,
our warmth, the Fire.
Our needs, the Water,
our home, the Earth.
Our birth, the Spirit,
our survival, all needed.
Our oath, we swear to,
our promise, we hold true."

Then she salutes with sincerity,
cleansing all the impurity.
The sacrifices made,
the spiked wine laid.
One after another,
we sip with pure pleasure.

After all is over,
members dwindle in numbers.
Slowly dawn creeps in again,
we turn in with no sorrow or pain.
We shall forgive and forget,
all past agony that tears will wet.
Start afresh like we did before,
leaving behind all history that used to bore.
~Ger.
(This poem is for the poet who steps up to recite the poem on stage after the ritual is over. This is for full moon)

Eclipse

Inch by inch, bit by bit,
darkness overwhemed where it was lit.
Piece by piece, part by part,
Sorrow feasting on a joyful heart.
Drip by drip, spot by spot,
emotions drained that all forgot.
Blink by blink, tick by tick,
life burnt away as fire licked.
~Ger.

I've been really emo lately... Idk, I just feel very lonely... No matter how much I talk to others. In fact, I feel happier when writing my novel then talking to them... Every time I start a conversation with my friends, oh well... that's the problem... I'm always the one who starts it... It's just me I bet... If I wasn't around, I bet they would be happier...

I wanted to rant it out in the venting thread.... but couldn't phrase myself properly... The following three poems should give some idea of how I'm feeling. By the way, all my poems are likewise, they all talk about my life, except those on romance (I'm clueless about romance. Ik I suck as a teenager, but I won't be getting into any relationship until I've graduated from University or at least from high school..).

[[I'm imperfect, but I'll keep trying... Keep trying to be someone everyone likes. I don't want to be alone /cries/ It sucks a lot to be... Being alone makes feel dark, emo, angst, despair, lost, fearful, afraid... I know I'm not good, but I'm trying really! I'm trying! I just don't want to be alone... I don't want to be alone... It's hard to make friends, and harder to to lose them. I don't want to be alone. I don't want to be alone, I don't want to be alone... I don't want to be alone... ]

There, here are the poems:

Sympathetic Helpless Onlooker

Always the one to start,
a conversation or a talk.
Only the one to begin,
closen gaps that grow wider.
Who would see,
that he needs someone who cares,
just as much as he has shown?
Why is the world,
so cruel and mean,
to leave a man in need,
with nothing but grievance and agony?
~Ger.

[Yeah me, always the one starting the conversation... But because I want to take on a third person perspective of my life... And I'd very much love to think that my friends would like to help, just that they don't know how to... Would like to think they care, would like to think that at least they pity me. I don't care, even if it's sympathy... At least I know someone notices me..]

Desperate to Barren Eyes

Having no one becomes a norm,
as days of friendship wears away,
and people take on different ways.

New cliques form as old groups die,
as everyone thinks it's just okay,
yet they just keep truth by the bay.

Even a picture become acquiantance,
maybe it's just the course life takes on,
finding closeness but getting them sawn.

Every pathway has its bends and turns,
comrades closeness are often torn,
for personal achievements are why they're born.

Parties and gatherings end with partings,
they cry, they tear and they hug each other,
but none were true for they were never near.

Those who were loyal friends till the end,
became the pitiful victims left at the rear,
living in eternal perpetual fear.

None will never come by with a smile,
hand them a cup of water or a candy stick,
and guide them from darkness that just licks.

Never will any pass by even with condolence,
only glances of spite and disgusts flicks,
as the count down timer starts to tick.
~Ger.

[I don't know. this was the first poem I wrote of the three... Probably an general idea, a rough outline of the personal feelings.]

Torn

Strays,
at least people will pity.
Kittens,
as least kids would find them cute.
Puppies,
as least children woudl stop to tease.
But I,
passers only glance with contempt.
But me,
who would even show some sympathy?
~Ger.

[Last of the three written. But it's really like people will pity strays, people will find living things cute... But I feel like i'm just casted aside, shoved aside, into a hole, into a vault, where I'm with a pile of bones... And soon to be one of the many rotting bones...]

I apologize for anyone who truly respects poetry and doesn't ever use it for vengeance of their emotions... But there is no way I can take this out of me without writing them out... You can flame this thread in whichever way you like.

The ritual poems are really good, and I think it should be published in the HON series, speaking from the true heart.

Symphathetic Helpless Onlooker- once again, the title attracts me, gosh, I just don't know how you can come up with such great titles. Anyway, I think I could somehow relate to this poem, however instead of being the one who starts the conversation, mine was always intervened by others, but I always let them do the talking.Sometimes I just get pissed.

Desperate to Barren Eyes
This is a poem about reality, and it's sad but true, it's not emo, it's real. And unlike anything that was made up, this is what happens to people.

Never will any pass by even with condolence,
only glances of spite and disgusts flicks,
as the count down timer starts to tick

This is my favourite stanza and I really could relate to this, it happens to my friends and also me.

Torn- It's a bit too short, but the meaning is there, I just wish you could elaborate iut further. And by the way, poems are just the only place I will seek comfort in,

Lol. Well. that was my first time so I really tried very hard. I sat down for a whole day brainstorming about each of the elements and what importance they hold to us. The first set is the more recent one, whereby the rhyme was thrown off and i wrote it more for the relevance each poem has with each other.

Well, you could check out the past rituals (this year) on the main HON site, there are many better poems up there i believe.

SHO: I have no idea myself. Well I came up with the poem first and then the title. Most of them was just the main drive of the poem (which most of the time, the poem seems not to tell the same story). I can understand how it feels to be cut all the time. well for me... i start the conversation, but slowly come to realize people in the conversation has left me out... so i just sit there quietly, listening to whatever they have to say... and also, start analysing their personalities (keeping myself busy in other words).

DTBE: There's no such thing as lies, other than friends and reality. Oops, doesn't that make everything a big lie? Well, the REAL reality is but a torture that none wants to face.

And if possible, could i give you an e-'hi-five'? I'm going through exactly the same thing.

Torn: Erm... sorry about that then, but i barely revise my poems because i want to keep them the way they are. Edited poems are no longer what you really feel anymore.

As for me, poems is an escape from reality, I'm quite a dreamer that I can sit there in class, with a consistent mess of thoughts flowing. As in... I can have several thoughts at once, that goes on and on and on...

Poetry helps me to organize them in separate thoughts so that i can be more focussed on one thing... well more focussed when procrastinating lol.

Strangers Will Never Empathize

Pity reflecting off their eyes,
as they crowd round to sympathize,
thinking they are helping,
just by gathering more around,
they don't know the fear,
that eats the lonely soul,
as they stand about and gaze...
Bystanders will never know.

Despise that radiates off their being,
as they pass with quickening steps,
presuming they never saw it,
but turning back to stare after they've past,
they don't know the pride,
which they've trampled on,
when they whisper amongst themselves...
Passersby will never understand.

Fear of dirtying themselves shows through them,
as they drop pieces of tissue and some coins,
believing it is aiding the lonely one in need,
not knowing how much it detriments it,
they don't know the silent resentment,
that they've engraved in the mind and heart,
as the circle widens from the middle out...
Onlookers will never use their heart...

For they are but strangers,
with eyes on no one but themselves.

~Ger.

A/N: First time using italics, don't quite know what it should be conveying, but it's more of internal monologue.... anyone got that?

Brittle Bottle

Jagged edges of the pretty shards,
leaves many crimson streaks flowing down.
Half-transparent pieces on the ground,
reflect the ugly disfigured features of this child.
Array of colourful fragments strewn all around,
each replays a scene of a wild memory—
without any beginning or the end.

Ib]Incoherent Piece of Life[/b]

When given more we
tend to complain
and blame whoever
gave us all the bane.

Yet when we get less
some day
we still complain whywe
didn't get just
as much as others did
thinking we were deemed
as the less competent and
hating those who had planned
all these so hard just
for us --
who failed as a human.

We're just selfish
to the extent
we know ourselves not
anymore.

We're just being arrogant
to the limits
that break through every
soul we were
acquainted.
~Ger.
