| These are just a few of my poems that I've written over the years. The majority are about my husband. Please tell me what you think.
In Love With A Man I Didn't Want
I didn't want a man who looks just like me, With dark brown hair and eyes. I wanted a guy with hair like autumn leaves, And eyes as blue as the bright morning skies.
I love a man with muscles rippling, As his bronze skin shimmers in the dying sun. A man whose smile could be crippling, But alas from this man I must run.
For I'm in love with a man who looks just like me, The man I always said I didn't want. Yet for this man I will put up a fight. I will never leave him. No, I won't.
I'm in love with this man and I know it. I'm in love with this man and I'll show it.
Christmas Day 2006
We both stood up, And he cleared his throat. He took out a poem, And tried not to choke.
He read the words slowly, As his hands started to shake. And I opened my present, Quickly tearing through the tape.
The box held many, Petals from roses, And he continued to read, "To you I wish to be closest."
Under the petals, Was a small white box. The box was heavy, As though filled with rocks.
Inside this compartment, Was a small blue thing, And inside this, Was an engagement ring.
He took the ring, And got down on one knee. Then said the last line of his poem, "Dearest Jena - will you marry me?"
I choked out a "yes", And he hugged me real tight, As we hugged and kissed more, We saw a flash of camera light.
He took the beautiful ring, And slowly slipped it on, And when the tears, Were finally gone,
He held me close, And whispered clear as day, "The rest of our lives, Began this day."
So when anyone asks, My answer always will be: "Christmas Day 2006 Will forever stay with me."

| Please Love Me
I can go a hundred places, And never see your car. I can see a hundred faces, Always searching for one that's afar. I can hear a hundred voices, But a deep one will still jar.
I can spend my time in leisure, And still I think of you. I can go out for ever pleasure, And yet have nothing to do. I can work hard, as though for treasure, But the height of my day, is to see you, too.
If you pass without speaking, I feel the urge to strangle. If it's me that you're seeking, My nerves are sure to jangle. And it's though while I'm peeking, You have me on a dangle.
Your double-talk may not be, Quite as I want it to, Your teasing all you see, Leaves a pain like new. Oh why can't you love me, As I so dearly love you?

| This is not my poem and I'm not completely sure If I am allowed to post it here. If I'm not please let me know and I'll delete it. But I absolutely loved it. I don't know who the author is. So here goes.
The Right-Handed Ways
Hearken sisters and brothers the call, Come all; dance 'round the sacred flame. The forest will be gathering hall, Tread the old paths with awe, not in shame.
Odin One-Eye, Lord of the Lore, Thor Red-Beard, Thunder and Flame, Tyr Lef-Hand, Warrior's core Hel, Guardian of those with no name.
St. Gabriel, Lord of the Sea, St. Michael, Keeper of the Flame, St. Raphael, eternal Wind flows free, St. Auriel, Earth, who will all of us claim.
Ra, Mithras, Jeshua ben Meryam, Death and Rebirth, light in different rays, Your protection we beg, to the fire have come, In reverence of the right-handed ways.
Deosil we will call each quarter, The athame will not drink any life, Firewood incense, salt and clean water, Our offer to you, Spirits arrive!
Protect us in winter, give promise of spring, Guard and grant us fire, air, earth, and sea, Dance to the music, that we but dimly sing, Keep us, bless us, till the last light we see.
-Unknown
This one however I did write. I wrote it years ago. About a vampire hope you like it.
Victim
Kiss me. You don't know what you're asking. Please? Just once? Just once is right. Please? The kisses are scorching. Your lips are setting me on fire. The passion soars. Don't stop. I trail kisses down your neck. That feels good. Looking for the right place. I found it! AHHHHHH! You scream as my fangs sink into your neck. So cold... I warned you.
So what do you think? | |

| Hey Wayward! I didn't know you wrote poems as well! I love Christmas Day 2006, did that really happen to you? Because when I'm reading it I feel surprise, sweet, giddy and on the edge of tears (romantic!), it's the sweetest poem I've ever read! Please love me : I love this poem as well, but the emotions are not as strong as X'mas day, but I can see the way the girl (okay, I assume it's a girl, XD) waited for the guy....It's quite pitiful.... I don't think there's any wrong to post other people's poem, so there's no need to delete it:) This is a complicated one, but it's something like a 'ritual' poem, which is brilliant and absolutely fascinating, the uses of vocabularies are so uncommon and I like it as well, though I need to read twice because I am slow in picking up the meaning, XD. Victim Ooooh, this gave me the chills! And the colours you used Makes it even more interesting, hahahaha. I just hoped that the victim will turn into a vampire too, XD I love your poems(: | |

| Please Love Me is my favourite of all. However, I can see the consistent effort to rhyme the lines, which sort of threw me off at some parts. So yeah, I would say the whole flow of the ideas is smoothly connected and nicely weaved. There's only the rhyme which wasn't quite that good. Because of rhyme, the poem sounded a little off-beat, hence awkward.
Christmas 2006: how sweet! Romantic >< Well, no chirstmas mood in my country (there is, but not a lot).
This one's less forced. The rhyme enhances the smoothness of the story. Your syllables didn't vary too drastically so it was a peaceful read. AND touching too (: Nice!

| Thanks so much you guys! It really means a lot to me. In answer to your question Natshane yes it did happen. That's the day my husband proposed to me. In fact, here is the poem he used to do it. He came up with the words and, because he's not "poem literate" my mom put it into poem form. Hope you like it.
Words cannot express – Nor do they exist – To tell of my love for you. I hope that these will do:
No one else has ever heard This depth of feeling in these Words. Never did I dream I could, Nor have I ever dreamed I would.
I love you for WHO you are inside. What you are can never hide The Jena I’ve come to know and love The what and the who fit like a glove.
If dying for you could tell The depth of my personal hell Being without you would be Then I’d die for you – yes, me.
To your family, I’d like to say Nothing will erase that fateful day When Robby left this world of ours A lifetime squeezed into such few hours.
A son was lost, never to grow up “What ifs?” could fill many cups. A brother that was and is no more A guardian for the rest of four.
I can never be him, nor take his place Of pride in your hearts when you see his face
But a son I want to be for you A big brother to your daughters, two
I want to make him proud of me Being the best me I can be Giving you honor as a son and Brother, as best as I can.
Jena lives in my thoughts and heart She’s on my mind, and she’s a big part Of who I am these days Sometimes I think I’m crazed.
Jena, your voice on the phone isn’t enough Sometimes to take the edge off the rough Patch in my life when we’re apart I’m addicted to you, my timeless heart.
We’ve tried to date others Each of us, you know all this covers Yet still I find myself wanting To be with the one who is haunting
My dreams, both sleeping and waking When we’re apart, I can’t stop shaking You’re like a drug to my heart So I’ve decided I want never to part
I want us to be a couple always my dear To share our thoughts, to lend our ears To live our lives together in harmony – So, dearest Jena – will you marry me?
Let me know what you think.

| Wayward (or Jena, is it your name?? ) That's a wonderful poem! And even though your husband is not a poem-literate like you said but he's a romantic to propose to you with a poem, I could not think of a reason why you wouldn't accept his hand in marriage, haha. Lucky you! | |

| Exactly, l have absolutely no idea what the heck the Physics teacher was talking about and that suck because he kept on giving us these DIFFICULT questions that he expects us to answer from scratch. Don't get me wrong that teacher is awesome but how am I supposed to understand Physics without studying it? And even though I did study I can't understand too >< | |

| I'll try hun I'll try lol
But in the meantime here's a poem I wrote a long time ago:
Sometimes and Always
Sometimes I'm worried. Sometimes I'm depressed. Sometimes I'm happy. Always I am loved.
Sometimes I miss your kiss. Sometimes I miss your voice. Sometimes I miss your touch. Always I miss you.
Sometimes I'm ready to cry. Sometimes I'm ready to laugh. Sometimes I'm ready to scream. Always I'm ready for love.
Sometimes I talk to you. Sometimes I hold you. Sometimes I kiss you. Always I am with you.
Sometimes I love life. Sometimes I love the world. Sometimes I love myself. Always I will love you.
What do you think??

| Hmm... It isn't going to sound very encouraging...
But well... since it has been written a long time ago, i'd say it's okay... maybe it is like your first write one of the first few, which i'd say, isn't fair to criticize too harshly.
It flows quite well. But. Too much repetition. 'sometimes' and 'always' is excusable since it's part of the title... but the common thread about the poem is that you basically just copy the line before and change one word inside, not a very nice way to write a poem. it sort of loses the quality of a poem.

| yea i know. but as i said "long time ago". I had to hunt to find this one to put it up here. But thanks for the criticism. I rarely change any of my poems when people give me criticisms. I just take the advice to heart and remember it when I write a new poem. | |
